Under the Radar

I live in Northern Virginia and work in Maryland. Therefore I have two commissions. Now here is the tickler. Even though my physical building place of work is in Maryland it uses a District of Columbia mailing address. (Federal Government, we are all over up here). Does this mean I can became a District of Columbia Notary because no one is going to do a drive by, or is this stretching a loophole and ethics.

I feel this is a 'no can do' primarily because this is a little sneeky and questions our purpose and integrity.

Call the District of Columbia and ask what the law is regarding notary appointments.

I agree with Mike. The law is the law no matter what. Protect yourself and your commission first.
