what to charge

I just got a call to do a quick notary job at 7:30am. I guess it's a house that's in foreclosure and one page from the original loan docs is/was missing. So I'm meeting the realtor at this woman's house. I'm new at all this and just curious, this is on a Sunday morning, about a 20 mile drive each way, realtor didn't say what page of the docs it was, but can you all give me suggestions on what to charge for a one-page deed ack. Thanks

Jan, it depends on your state's rules, but in mine, I can charge $6 per notarization. You add reasonable travel to the notarization charge. I would charge around $45 for this one, I think. $35 is my lowest fee for running into town around 6 - 8 miles away.
