24-7 notaries
Hi! Okay, when we put "24-7 services" on our profiles, does that REALLY mean 24/7? I got a call at 1 am this morning for someone who needed an emergency notarization for something due at 11 am this morning. I don't mind, but I couldnt get out of the house at that time. We signed the papers at 7 am this morning. Has anyone ever had calls like that? I was just curious...

Yes, I used to be listed as 24/7 on my profile. But after a few late night calls and SS wanting 11PM signings, I'm now only listed as 7AM-5PM. I lose my share of evening signings but family comes first....I choose to be home in the evenings.

24/7 means 24/7. If you're not available 24/7, don't put it in your profile.

I never realized that some people would actually call in the middle of the night. I know some people at hospitals would for a lot of reasons. Hey, that's okay with me! I was just curious.

I have had quite a few phone calls in the middle of the night, but usually after talking for a few minutes, I found that most of the time the documents could be signed at 6 or 7 am. I have receiced a lot of calls for middle of the night service the past year, but only one did I have do in the middle of the night. It's also ok to put in your profile something like " Extra fee applies from 10pm to 7am. "
Bottom line, if you don't want to work 24/7, don't put it in your profile.
