Another one bites the dust...

Oh dear, another one tanks at the table. I'm posting this for all LO's that have a brain OR that want to know what the problem is:

NEVER assume southern borrowers can neither read or write.
NEVER assume that the folks depicted in Deliverence are the "norm" for those of us in the southern states.
IF you don't see fit to inform the borrowers about the change from 9% fixed to 11% ARM, be prepared for a phone call, you can run but you can't hide.
Southern borrowers love to barter, it's in their blood.
Southern borrowers love to fish, they recognize bait and switch.
IF you tell Mrs. Borrower NOT to involve her hubby, be prepared for a phone call, you can run but you can't hide!
Southern borrowers love to hunt, they've trained dogs for it...they understand the mentality of search and destroy quite well and delight when something is "treed".
Southern borrowers absolutely love for you to think they're stupid, then when you least expect it they rise up and smite ya!
NEVER expect me to sing your praises, I don't know you. I'm an independent contractor presenting your docs, if they suck...they suck and I'm not a magician.
I have ethics, if you need some I can help.
Get real here, I know what an RTC is. IF they don't want to sign I'm not going to arm wrestle them for it, they'll win!
Think of it this way, respect given is respect received. Treat someone like a second class citizen and you're going to have a rough road to hoe.
Southern borrowers are laid back, easy going. They've got alot of time and they use it wisely.

Sorry for the venting but I swear some of these LO's could use some in house training on the proper way to get from point A to point B without stepping on toes. Someone once told me that the sign of a good supervisor was one that could step on toes and not disturb the shine, words to live by because it means you've got some humility, that you actually give a darn about those you're dealing with. These borrowers may be a number to most LO's but for me they're people. I'm gonna go soak these weary bones and get ready for the next challenge.
Have a glorious day all!

I did a closing yesterday that requested that the borrowers fill out an evaluation of the notary signing agent and the loan officer. On a scale of 1 - 5 I got all 5s. The loan officer got poor ratings. And they wrote a negative comment about him.

I know how you feel! I guess some people just assume that because someone had a southern accent they are an uneducated fool. I live in the Triangle area of NC, this area is known for being one of the 3 areas in the US to the most people with doctorates, and coming out of the higher education system. Yet LO's tell them one thing, send me with a completely different product, and don't expect the borrower to notice.

LO's need to read this! Well said, Sue!

I'm a transplant to AR. Everything Sue said is absolute truth.
