Any suggestions
I'm new to the notary world. Just received my commission and seal with in the last couple of weeks. I haven't been on my first signing and wanted to know if you all had any suggestions on how to market myself. I saw the post on mentoring so I see that might be out of the questions but I'm curious to know how you all got started. I understand that there are companies that I can get work thru (kinda like a temp agency for signing agents) Have any of you worked with them and if so which ones???
I currently live in Southern California if you have any names of companies that you could forward over to me.
Thanks for any suggestion you give,
The Freshwoman.

The phone may not ring instantly if you are in a saturated area. It is important that you register with 200 or more companies; just registering with a few will not help you. It is important when you know what you are doing and do it very well. The key to success after you get your first assignment with a company, make sure you check your work and follow instructions.
You should also advertise here and setup a profile on Notary Rotary, many SS, TC and lenders find NSAs this way. There are other sites but you need to do your research.
In addition, read post no. 33325. This is a very popular and useful reference list to get you going on your new career.
Good luck.

First suggesstion: click on the find a notary tab and enter your zip code. This will tell you how many notaries you are in competition with in your immediate area. Next, cuss the NNA for feeding you a line of B.S. about the get rich quick stuff. If you are going forward, read all of the posts on this board from first to last for a real education. Be aware that no one on this board will help train their competition. Lastly, if you don't have a very thick skin, better develop one because on this board, your gonna need it. Good luck.

Do not get suckered into 1 Click Registry. Do not pay to sign up for loan signings.

This is not a turnkey business. It takes work to build up to your first assignment.
Good Luck....
