Fingerprinting ink is only standard, regularly available black printers ink and you should be able to find it in any printers's supply place. The trick is to spread it very thinly. If you don't have a fingerprint kit you'll also need a hard rubber brayer (looks like a roller but its called a brayer by printers) and piece of glass to spread the ink on, otherwise all you'll get is a big black blob on your card! Look in the Yellow Pages under inks. If I knew where you were I might be suggest where to go!

Perhaps you just wanted a pad to do a thumbprint for your journal in which case I just gave you bazooka to swat flies with. The above post would be for a fingerprinting job. Unless you live near NNA in Orange County I ahve no idea where you would get a pad today. I buy mine from NotRot, Harry has the best prices, the pads are great and have special ink to clean up quickly without having to have a wipie (sp?) and they are so inexpensive that I get 3 at a time and that way when I take the last one I just order three more. Best pads for the best price on the market and also very quick shipping if you cn wait a day or two!

Call your local office depot or staples

Some of them carry them in-house, but not all. I'd call them first.

I couldn't agree more Charles...

Last time mine "died" I looked high and low for another and came up empty handed! Learned my lesson, I too buy them from NotRot and get 2 at a time, they're the best and I wouldn't think of getting them anywhere else! No muss, no fuss, easy to wipe clean...THANKS HARRY!

I wouldn't rely on the big box stores

Most times the mom and pop stationary stores will have inkless thumb print pads and journals. The best pads for the money are the ones sold on Notary Rotary along with the Modern Journal. JMHO
