Re: Pamela
Pamela says: And you have nothing else better to do, than to "check me out"!
Pamela, It seems like you are the one that has been "checking everbody out"! You claim everybody is being mean, rude, etc. to the newbies. You must have done a lot of reading of posts, or checking people out to come to that conclusion. You state "we" newbies, but the only one complaining is "you". You said "we" are here to stay, nobody asked "you" to leave until you started acting crazy (ranting). People here simply stated to research before you ask a question, then if you cannot find an answer you post a question. There are a lot of people lately that can't seem to locate the bright orange button with the word "search" printed on it. You are ranting about training, and comparing an employee in a company that receives on- the-job training; to an independent contractor that you think should train their competition. If you have a college degree, as you claim (or even just some common sense) you should be able to distinguish the difference between the two very different types of positions. Perhaps you should have done research on the definition of the word "independent", before you became self-employed. You state that there is paid mentoring available, but complain that it is to expensive. I just finished my first year, and filed my taxes. After all my expenses to set-up a home office, purchase all of the start-up supplies, training, advertising, not to mention the supplies that you need to constanly replace (paper, toner, etc); I was lucky to break even, or darn close to it. You are going to have to invest money in your business if you want it to suceed. So you want free help or mentoring, and then forget to say please or thank you. What is strange is you end all of your rants/complaints with a blessing. Don't you have some social working to do?
Independent contractor From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia An independent contractor is a natural person, business or corporation which provides goods or services to another entity under terms specified in a contract. Unlike an employee, an independent contractor does not work regularly for an employer but works as and when required during which time, he or she may be subject to the Law of Agency.
Competition From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Competition is the act of striving against another force for the purpose of achieving dominance or attaining a reward or goal, or out of a biological imperative such as survival. Competition is a term widely used in several fields, including biochemistry, ecology, economics, business, politics, and sports. Competition may be between two or more forces, life forms, agents, systems, individuals, or groups, depending on the context in which the term is used.
