Have any of you ever had the urge to

Take a baseball bat to your computer? My computer is having a hissy fit and I'm having to use my husband's today. It makes it difficult and frustrating and #$%^^%$#@@. And to make matters even worse, I just get a call for a $40 appt.

ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH.

Re: Yes Maam!

I have. When I was the office coordinator for a real estate office, I had a term I used on those certain kaotic days. It was "Its computer he@# day." There were days that all the computers in the office were not cooperating and the thought of a bat came to my mind more than once. I definately feel for you.

Re: Yes Maam!

To make it even more frustrating...my husband is an engineer. That translates to I'll fix it which means I'll be even more annoyed when my computer guts are spewed everywhere. Oh, and if he feels the need, he'll call one of 4 other engineers of varying fields in our family for help!

Hmmm, there was mention of Quervo in an earlier post!!! Wink

Re: Yes Maam!

Well, I had enough with my 8 year old desktop the other day and have a new one on the way. It got the bat! Thsese days with viruses, spam, spyware etc, etc, you also have to be your own IT person and security expert. I have spent a couple of nights working on my old computer with my buddy , Jack Daniels. Good reason to have 2 computers.

I feel a greater sence of satisfaction with steel toed boots, river dancing, and Rumple Mintz. Thank God I do have my own IT person but yes the parts store in the living room is getting old.

I remember that someone here quoted a Mae West caution: After 2 drinks, I can feel it....after 3, anyone can !

Lily..... my other half actually threw one off our deck when we lived in Columbia Md.......from our third floor condo....... In ten years I never saw that man lose his temper til that day. He claims he looked first to make sure no one was down below.... I've got my doubts about that.
Are you slow too? Monday and Tuesday were great . now the phones are dead.....I am now living in Salisbury Md. Where are you?

Re: JS

I feel for him! What is sooooo aggrivating and frustrating to me is my computer has all of my "favorites" stored. Websites I deal with regularly recognize me. My hard drive! My husband's computer is just as foreign as trying to work from a stranger's computer. And it's not hooked up to the laser printer.

Re: JS

Best protection is to keep your important files , bookmarks and favorites backed up. Then if your hard drive does crash, you can get back where you were in short order. Its not if you are going to have a problem, but it's when.

Re: Having been around these things since inception...

I believe it would help matters if you vent this feeling directly to your PC vs this forum. Although seemingly inert, I speak from experience when I tell you that direct threats to electrical or mechanical objects, often will resolve the problem. Also convey to your machine that the next step will be 'persuasive percussion', or as we say in the business, a 'technical tap'.

Well, I actually just told mine that "You're Fired" and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Winston - I just had a random thought I was able to briefly trap and analyze...and now, I have to ask...are you a notary? Or have you been sent here as part of an in depth experiment or a study funded by the psychiatric prof. association?

It's ok whatever it is...just tell us. You are family now...but we should be in on this.

I do believe your suggestion is the best I've heard thus far! It's sure to solve my "computer issues!"
