Hi, Can anyone tell me what these terms mean?

I have a request that I will need to get an estimate ( I know what that is) a VOE (verification of employment?) Clear w-2 , LOE (?) VOM (Verification of Mortgage(?). I was not sure what the LOE stands for except a guess of Length of Employment?

I will be calling the lender tomorrow for clarification but thought that I would ask the professionals before calling to see if I was partially correct.

Thank you in advance.

before anyone gets rude and tells you...these are basic notary 101 questions...but in answer to your question...you are correct in all but one...the LOE stands for Letter of Explanation. This is used to explain reason for bk's etc. Hope this helps. if you have further questions, write me at my email address. Good Luck. "Doc" Stuart

Well....Doc

Without being "rude" I guess there is more than one acronym for LOE. See above.

Lender terms are a joke, and nothing more than a display of false knowledge. More than likely...you are right in your original thought.

Simply say ask the question, nobody knows all the acronyms. The world of lending loves it's own sense of false mystery.

Re: Well....Doc

Thank you for you clarification on LOE…(Letter of Explanation) Since this is predominantly a lender term, witness closers/signing agents may not know what it means, as I have proved. I went back and skimmed through all of my closing books, searched for LOE and I did not find it.

Now, POA is Notary 101, not LOE.

HHmmm, back in my younger days, (a looong time ago) POA had absolutely NOTHING to do with Notaries. Now-a-days, that's about the only meaning it could be! <g>

Re: Well....Doc

With a smile on my face, I answer your missive with a question. If you have a VOE (verification of Employment) why would you need a LOE (Letter of Employment)...seems that they contradict each other. Which is why I asked my darling wife..Elaine "The Loan Arranger" tm regarding the question and she gave me the answers. Still smiling, no nastiness indended...have a good evening all

The desert sand it too far embedded in my fingernails to dig any more. I need....water....water...and the written word. Please, we beg of you darling Elaine, to give us but one tiny drop of ......knowledge. save your water....water saves lives but knowledge saves me......

.....I'm on my last breath....LET THE LIFE OF THE TRUTH LIVE!!!.......collapsing now....panting for water and truth..........

LOE = Letter of EXPLANATION

This are usually brief letters from the borrower(s) explaining some detail or inconsistency that was noted during the loan application, review, underwriting, etc.

Things like breaks in employment, short term home ownership (less that 2 years in a particular residence prior to the current one), etc.

Some of the more common (and not so common) acronyms and abbreviations that NSA's may run across are listed at http://www.pawnotary.com/tla.htm.

Smacks Self on forehead

I have had to collect LOE's as stipulations before, but due to a recent lack of brain function I didn't put 2 and 2 together on this one.
