I am wondering
yesterday I passed a signing up to another notary that knew the borrowers since it was a case of expired ID.
Now, how or what will he do when the instructions request a copy of the proper ID used for notarization? I am thinking he'll still include a copy of the expired on and write he that he identified them by personal knowldege. Would this also be the case if it had been a woman with her maiden name on the ID and married on the docs?
For personal knowlege what does a notary public submit when they want a copy of the ID used? The patriot act form I get, there are more choices there.
Hope I made sense, well off to my next signing.

When I worked for the lender, these would be sent sans any ID information (no info from D/L, for example) and instead, they would add verbiage to the effect that the person was personally known to them. That was sufficient for the lender I worked with.
The LENDER could easily demand current ID, regardless of the notary's valid satisfaction of the notary's ID requirements being met, as a condition to the loan - and in a perfect world, that demand would be written out in their closing instructions.
