LOW LOW FEE

I just got a call from a SS that needed a spanish speaking notary in Phelan, Ca. I thought ok this will be good, I haven't been getting a lof of business and was even going to lower my fees a little bit. Well the girl says they would overnight the docs and would pay $50 !! can you believe that. I mean I need the business but I refuse to accept $50. Like we have all said, gas is not cheap let alone the wear and tear on my car going through dirt roads in Phelan. She said she would call back she needed to get "APPROVAL".

I think we need to stop working for this pocket change. we should come up with a good base pay and tell everyone this is where we start. especially when they get 200-250 from the title company just to make the call and don't do anything, except pay us when they want to.

I got a call last night for a signing, edocs and a first and second. The fee was $60.00.
Nearly blew me out of my chair. Of course I passed. I didn't even laugh, it made me mad.

I know how you feel, I was upset, but what can you do. I mean I haven't been in this business for years but I know what my time is worth and what the SS get paid for just making a call. It really is amazing what some people will try to get away with.

A first & 2nd mortgage -- 2 loans signed at the same time. Could be a 80/20 (first loan is 80%LTV and 2nd loan is for the remainder of the loan amount) or could be a refinance and HELOC -- there could be a few different combinations. What it means is more printing & more signing.
