Loan has been cancelled! Yeah right!
I got a call from Notary direct to do a loan in my next city, they offered me 50.00 dollars and I asked for 75.00 o/n package. Agreed, she told me to update info in their website. five minutes later she called saying that the loan was cancelled. Yeah was cancelled for me I told her, you have found a cheaper notary I told her. No she said, the loan has been cancelled for reals.
I know loans get cancelled, but we all know how SS are shopping around for a low price, which is fine, but come on, once you agree with a person STOP SHOPPING FOR A CHEAPER ONE!.
I wont do this, but what if I would do the same once I have agreed to do the loan and then cancel because I have found a better paying signing, that's unethical, but SS keep doing to us. GRRRRR

Calnotary, Please don't think that all SS "shop around" after a deal is "booked". Once I confirm a signing with a notary, that is a done deal! If the signing is cancelled, I tell that same notary that I will call him/her when it is rescheduled--and I do. There is no "rate shopping" with us! Unfortunately some people/companies are unethical (as are some notaries) but I can honestly say that I sleep very well at night. I'm sorry you got a raw deal but please know that not all signing services operate that way. Just my 2 cents worth. I do hope you have a better day/week. Best Regards, Susan

you can check on their site
Go to their site and log in. Your username and pw should be on your confirmation if you don't know it. They keep good notes on their activities with each order. It should all be in there

They did me the same way and it was only 2 minutes after the call. I called back and told them to take me out of their database and that I did not play games. If they were going to Notary shop I did not do business that way.

If you got the confirmation then call the borrowers! See if it was cancelled.

Very good idea, Paul. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably do the same thing. At least you would know if someone is being truthful with you. Of course, I'm assuming someone would have called the borrower and cancelled---you know how that goes!

I've had that happen, but the SS tripped over their own backtracking footprints. They called, I accepted, I received confirmation. They called back (some hours) later to say that the loan had been cancelled but that they'd call me back if it came through after all. Then about 10 minutes later, I received the docs to my email address with another notary's name (and lower fee) at the top of the confirmation. I called to see if the deal was back on since I'd received docs: "Um, [stutter/fumble/bumble], um, hmmm, looks like we accidentally assigned notary to the job. Sorry."
They conveniently "forgot" me in 10 minutes. Nice.

You could've really messed with them, too, LOL
You could've just taken the docs and had them signed, while the SS and the other notary were still looking for the lost email...then they'd had to pay ya at your confirmation, LOL I wouldn't have done it myself, but it sure was fun thinking up a get-even!
