Low fees
I had Right-Now-Notaries tell me that they have a lot of signings inMD and the notaries always take the $50 fee. Now Why don't I believe them?

Maybe because the notaries they're using don't have Title Producers Licenses and are acting illegally? Don't think anyone with a TPD would take a $50 signing.

Even so I don't think anyone in this area is accepting e-docs for $50. Unless they are supporting a drug habit. No professional is going to even start their car up for that price with gas being as high as it is.
Your response should've been "If you can find someone for that price please do not let me hold you up from calling them." Then get triple that, which is what you deserve on the next call.
$125- $150 is the avg here.

Sandy, don't believe it.
These low ball companies will say anything to get a notary to work dirt cheap. I like the ones that tell me they don't need to have a title producer "for this one just a regular notary."
I also average $125 to $150. I have one tc that pays me more than that.

Re: Sandy, don't believe it.
Title Companies should be paying you double that. Have you seen the "Notary Fees" line on the Hud? They get up to $500. They should be willing to split that 60-40 (at least) our way. Try asking them for $300 once or twice. It's a beautiful thing.

Re: Ummm Catrina
I have a wonderful working relationship with all 5 of the TCs I work regularly with. I am paid a nice fee to maintain their regular business and have no qualms with the split between them and me. I did say "average" because in addition to working for the regulars I mentioned. I still honor my working relationship with those companies that gave me my start in the beginning. That's a beautiful thing.

Re: Ummm Catrina
actually that is not true, I know for a fact that what you see on the HUD of 500 or whatever is what the company charges the borrower, they keep most of it, they give an average of 200-300 dollars for the signing service, depending on the company.

Re: Ummm Catrina
I am not sure which email you are referring to "anonymous". However, you seem to be confirming what I said which is that the Title companies are getting $500 and they should be willing to double the normal fee signing companies give us which is an average of $125-150 per signing. Or a 60-40 split our way.....which when computed last was around $300 bucks.
I am not sure why anyone wouldn't believe it but, keep asking Title Companies for the $125 and I will continue to get the $300 that they are willing to pay us. Seeing my checks will make anyone a believer. You are not harming the Title Company in any way by asking for what you deserve.

Re: Sandy, don't believe it.
What exactly is a title producer? I have been in business for about 6 months and have never heard that word. Is it something specific to your state? Thanks!
