MISTY_FL- Collection letter success!!
First, many thanks to Misty in FL for sending me the collection letter!! I (unfortunately) had cause to actually USE the letter. I am however, estatic to report that it worked like a CHARM. I actually received payment in 24 hours - NO LIE!
I emailed this company that owed me for a closing conducted in January, 2006. After 45 days and still no payment, I sent a nice email letter asking for payment. They said they would look into it and get back to me. Two weeks later, I was still waiting. Yesterday I emailed them the collection letter (and added two additional points of my own) and next thing you know, I got a phone call asking for my overnight payment address so they could send the payment by overnight mail. It arrived by Fedex this morning! I'll be sure to use the letter all the time. Thanks again Misty!!

Not a problem. Here is what I sent:
(Here I stated a brief recap of the previous communications that were sent and the result of that communication). I therefore must remind you of the following:
I am a sworn public official from the state of Illinois. When a fraud is perpetrated in the course of my official duties, I feel obligated to take the following action (IN THIS ORDER): a. Notify the Attorney General of (ENTER YOUR OWN STATE) of the details and circumstances of the occurrence. b. Notify the (AGAIN, YOUR OWN STATE) Secretary of State to look into the matter of whether the Lender should maintain their license to do business in the state. Supply the same details to the Secretary of State.
c. Notify other notary publics of the details of non-payment.
d. Register the details of the occurrence with the BBB.
The above actions as outlined above will commence on MONTH, DAY, 2006 if our office does not receive payment before that date. Please send payment to:
And then I entered my mailing address. The date I used was FIVE DAYS from the date of the email I sent. Hope this works as well for you as it did for me.
