NREIS
so why is it that now they have cut their fees (60 for o/n and 90 for e-docs ) and expect since they tell you they are not going to negotiate that you will take a lower fee? I got a call asking me to do a signing tonight and was told that their fee was $90, when I told them my fee was $XX was asked since it was just a "little" (so they thought) below my fee would I still do it and they no longer will negotiate. When I still answered no I was told that they will take me out of their data base because I would not cut my fees.

Same here...they didn't say they would cut me, but they don't want to come up to my fee! When they called me about a year ago, they gave me their fee schedule and it was great! Now, they have gone back on their agreement. Should be more a year later....NOT LESS!

Re: NREIS - guess what they are doing
They are recruiting...Mr. John Jenkins, just called three notaries I know in my area that I know and they are looking for notaries.
Too bad they all know what NREIS is doing right now. But one returned the voicemail and is going to see what they say when they tell them their base fees.

Re: NREIS - guess what they are doing
had a friend just tell me that Mr. Jenkins just called and left them a message a few minutes ago asking the same thing.
so now what? no one will close for them because they are cheap and so they think that just because they haven't worked with a notary they aren't going know that they changed their fees ....too late, bad news travels faster then good.
We need to all send an email letting them know that Ebay is a really good place to list Gargoyles for sale.
Maybe if he didn't spend so much money to be popular...

So, they talked with NREIS...you won't believe what
they said....
"So, I was looking at the profile you have and you seem to be what we're looking for... we're looking for notaries in your area."
friend says "Well that's good." - Sarcastic tone
"Well, I'm just going to tell you that recently we modified our fees and we're having a hard time finding closers who will do our jobs for those fees."
He says "Yep, know about that and I'm sorry but you won't be able to meet my fees with your new fee structure."
"Yeah, and the schedulers don't have the authroity to negotiate at all. None of us who are making these calls are liking it much. I don't know why they crippled us like this, but I don't make the rules, I only get to follow them."
My firend says, "Yeah I don't suppose it's been much fun but it's not a good business decision to screw the notaries who were loyal to you guys to save a buck when the clients you work with aren't getting their loans closed and they get pissed and move their accounts to someone else."
"Well, what are your fees anyway?"
"Minimum $100 for me to walk out the door and $25 more to print, within 25 miles...goes up from there."
"Yeah, we can't do that."
"Well, call me when you have to have them re-sign because they're wrong and we'll see if you guys want to negotiate then."
"Yeah, we have to close them first."
KEEP STANDING UP FOR YOURSELVES...THEY KNOW THEN WE'RE SERIOUS AND WON'T BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
PROUD OF ALL OF US.

I just told them my fees have NOT changed. This is ridiculous. I just can't believe what has happened to what used to be a great TC to work with. Unreal, $90 for edocs? Yeah right.

No kidding. They gave me a lot of work at first but now offering $65 for a trip w/ docs & at borrowers house & $90 for edocs has got to be the lowest. I had to tell them no thanks tonight for a 50 mile round trip... I asked if they've seen the gas price lately? I can't afford it, not to mention I know what they are being paid to do the job. CRAZY!! Sad part is... some people are accepting it, only driving prices down for the rest of us.

They called me and wanted me to go 100 miles rt for $65.00. The young man then told me that they did not negotiate fees any longer and they only paid a flat fee. I told him that we had a problem because I don't charge a flat fee and I wouldn't do it for that amount for the pope! He said thank you and bye. What a pain.
