Need help with witness question - CA

I have a signing today in California. The property is in Georgia. I was told by the SS that she would need a witness for the Deed and I could be one witness. After lokoking through the docs and the requirements by the Lender it states that there must be 2 witnesses and an attorney present. So, my question is - Is the attorney the one to notarize the deed? And is it okay to be a witness since I just met this lady?

This is a first time doing this type of signing for me although I have completed many others and I have my thoughts on the situation but want to verify.

Thanks for the help!

Yes you can be a witness and so can the attorney. As long as both of you have checked ID, you both can be witnesses.
