New California Signing Company - Covers California Only

Hello,

I am starting a California state-wide signing company. If you would like to be an approved notary with us please go to 7daynotary.com and follow the prompts to sign up as a notary signing agent. Please let me know what kind of experience you have. I will be splitting the commission 50/50 with you.

I hope to hear from you soon

50/50 seems pretty steep to me. Say TC/lenders are paying $150 for a signing. With you taking $75 that leaves $50 signing fee and $25 printing fee for SA.

Actually my fees are as follows:

$125 1st over-night docs - Notary makes $62.50
$175 1st and 2nd over-night docs - Notary makes $87.50
$175 - 1st e-docs - Notary Makes $87.50
$225 - 1st and 2nd e-docs - Notary makes $112.50

I work for several siging companies I actually make a little less than what I will be paying my notaries

Disparate Business Practice afoot...

Your fee structure is not equitable and does not compensate for increased gas prices, expertise, and possible re-draws/re-signs.

I would suggest that you establish a percentage based structure that would encompass what you are actually putting out, maybe 25% of base fee. Remember, you are not assuming the risk but actually filtering out the work.

Sheesh... wha't goin on?

Why would you give the notary 50/50 on an overnight deal and 50/50 on an edoc deal.

How is the work any different for you if it's overnights or edocs.

Re-think your business practices, then get back to me.... lol

Glad I'm not in California.

Re: Sheesh... wha't goin on?

Ok guys...give me a break here!

I am brand new and have spent thousands of dollars to start my business!

If 50/50 is too low I will re-think it...I would appreciate some positive responses not just negative...it's not easy or cheap starting up your own business.

Re: Sheesh... wha't goin on?

as independent contractors, we have our own business as well and have thousands of dollars invested. We have equipment purchases, supplies, wear and tear on our vehicles, and I'm not even getting started on the price of gas.

You don't want to hear the negative, but what qualifies you to 50% of the pie?

Re: Sheesh... wha't goin on?

good luck. If you're ready to open your doors and are here taking our advice on fee structure you're doomed before you've started because you haven't yet figured out how to run your business - and most experienced notaries will not allow you to learn off our backs.

I am not trying to shoot you down, but....

Here are some questions that you must ask yourself:

What is your volume?

If you, as a signing service have a potential volume of signings, then you can make up your start up costs within 2 years and still be able to operate.

ie: 500 orders come in for your SS.

You charge title: $125 per signed loan package or $100

your potential revenue is $50,000.00

consider your fee structure for vendors along with that goal.

I know that the above numbers are not realistic, but think about it real carefully.

"I appreciate the fact that you weren't mean or negative with me...your constructive criticism is appreciated"

Constructive criticism by nature is negative. It can be worded nicely, but it's still telling you you're doing something wrong.

I wish I could remember who said it on this board but I'm stealing it - look at the message, not the delivery.

You might also consider the saturation areas. Your fees are very close to what I charge for my area and I am not a signing service.

Re: Exactly Jenny

btw Anon, there is a big difference between being mean and putting you down, and from realistic people telling you that a 50% cut is far from acceptable. just remember that you get exactly what you pay.

I've spent thousand$ too

From an SA stand point, a 65/35 split to SA is more realistic if you want to keep your client. Every business required investment and recovery should be calculated on a longterm basis. No offense, but your approach sounded like fly by SS where the most work (by SA) is not equitably compensate for with that equation.

Think respect...Respect....And Respect!

Do you have the capital to pay your notaries or will you be working on the premise of "when I get paid, you get paid"?

What is this? Comedy hour? Are you really serious about this?

Sorry Anon. That's not a good price structure.

If anyone here has seen an old cult favorite "Used Cars" just think of the guy with the shot gun shooting out high prices...

"Well....that's just tooooooooooooo *_*ing high! " Kablooey!!

Here's another excellent quote from the movie:

"I've just noticed something else. Mrs. Lopez, do you realized that your hair matches the color of these tires?"

and how about...

"This country is going to the dogs! You know, it used to be when you bought a politician, the son-of-a-b*h stayed bought!"

Yes...those were the days...25 years ago they knew how to make a movie...
