Notary Community can be supportive...

....instead of being so critical with each other. ...BUT LISTEN carefully before responding.

Last night I tried to post something on here...and for some reason it did not go through. I just know that I am kind of disappointed how many responded negatively to the MARCH OF DIMES posts last month.

And PLEEEEASSSSE don't tell me this is not the place to "solict" funds. then please tell me...where else would you go if this place one of the places that you have contact with "fellow workers"??? (cuz in a sense we are!!) Would you rather we email you personally???

Now...I'm going to be a little of constructive critical, but listen with heart, ok? Imagine if your child was diagnosed with a disability or a life-threatening illness. Please tell me, what would YOU do to maintain a good support system and not only within the community of that disease or disability, and not only within family and friends...but those whom YOU CAN REACH OUT TO ONLINE. Trust me...as a parent of a child with a life-threatening illness, YOU WILL REACH OUT TO ANYONE WHOM YOU CAN-- CUZ YOU NEED TO.

However, when I saw and read the insults, the bashing, the rudeness, the disrespect from a group of "professional adults"...I was so broken hearted. You all don't know how cold it sound to hear/read... now imagine if it was YOUR child...and you heard collegues bash you like that. What would YOU do...or how would you really feel????!!!

The Notary Community can be the most positive and the most supportive community if they would put more of their hearts into it and stop and I mean STOP spending so much negativity with each other. When you become so critical, so rude, so disrespectful to each other- it does tell us about your character. It tells us that you are a bitter person. An angry person. For what, I don't know. but please find other (healthy) ways to let it out (without HURTING PEOPLE FEELINGS.)

I'm taking a risk doing this...and hope that many of you will at least LISTEN instead of being critical. However, the Notary Community can be a big help to this project. (So please read with heart and skip out the negativity )...as we are in great need of YOUR support...

"Recycle for Tim" is my choice of fundraising for the 2007 PPMD/Disney "Run for Our Sons" Marathon, and I am collecting Ink & laser cartridges from people to help raise the funds for Team Timothy.

So far we are getting quite an interest. I'll be mailing out kits to those who would like to be part of this fundraising project. It will be NO money on your part. Just collect cartridges and we will provide the UPS shipping labels.

I'm hoping those who are not involve with the Marathon, will at least like to help raise the funds for it through our Recycle for Tim project. If you are interested, please email me at: [e-mail address]. Please ask your friends and family to help by getting invovle too.

Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) (www.parentprojectmd.org) is a 501 c (3) not-for profit organization that is owned and maintained by parents who concentrates on advocacy. They work closely with CDC, NIH and the legislators. They also provide conferences and seminars to families who have been affected with Duchenne (DMD) & Beckers (BMD) Muscular dystrophy. They also work closely with researchers, and with new drugs. There is a medical team as board of the board of directors.

Thank you!

A serious question Dee (I really don't have a clue). Are you talking about used ink cartridges? Or brand new ones?

She was refering to the used ones in her last request.

correct..used one. however, this company has been known to buy back new ones to those who no longer have the machine and the cartridges are just sitting around never used.

thank you for asking.

Is this any different than

asking co-workers in your office if they'd like to buy Girl Scout cookies? I don't think so, if you don't want to participate, then just say, "no thanks" or as in this case just don't post or respond. Those that want to help will. Actually, I'd rather see something like this from one of my "co-workers" that the Good Morning Posts or the Happy Birthday posts. NOT that there is anything wrong with them, just not my cup of tea so I don't read them. I know many of you enjoy them and that's why they're here.

Dee, With All Sincerity

Firstly Dee I'm going to have a few things to say about your post. Some possitive and some negative. I will tell you as a parent of a disabled child "This is not the place to solicit funds". I also take offense to "PS If you don't have anything POSTIVE to say, please DO NOT respond to this post. Thank you!!!" If you can't handle the feedback whether possitive or negative then refrain from posting. We all have opinions and this is a public message board.
Here's my post in reply to the March of Dimes post.

***I have posted a few times that my daughter is autistic and and my son is AS on these boards. I would love for the members here to read about and help support research. When National Autism Awareness month comes I'm not going to address my collegues with a plea for money. I'll just let everyone know some things I have said in the past such as 1 in every 150 children born in CA today are born on the Autistic Spectrum. I have full confidence that my collegues are intellent enough to decide for themselves whether or not they would like to research the disabililty and possibly contribute whether it be thier time or thier money.***

The problem with the MOD post was it originally came from an anonymous poster. It is very offensive to come in and ask for our dollars without having the guts to tell us who you are. When you post anonymously you are not a collegue.

Now THE POSSITIVE. I don't see anything wrong with asking people to send thier unwanted junk that can be turned around to help you and yours. Without searching back didn't someone roast you for that? Well they can go wiz on a sparkplug. You've been here long enough for the community to know that you are a real person with a real issue who isn't just asking for dollars.

More later. Gotta go pick up my daughter.

Re: Dee, With All Sincerity

Sarah....there is one thing with "constructive critism" and there is another thing with insults, bashing and being very rude. That is what I meant about "if don't anything positive to say then don't respond". Keep out that type of negativity. To me..that type of negativity is verbal and emotional abuse. We all DON'T need it.

However, when you posted about the Awareness month for the Autism...you were talking about AWARENESS and not solicting funds. They continue to verbally abuse you and your cause.

This was happening with the MOD....some folks got out of hand with their "critisms" they just got out of control with the verbal abuse not only with you and the Anoyomous as well. Yes, they should had used their name, but that is not the point. It was bringing AWARENESS and that was the main point. The verbal abuse continued towards/with the poster and other posters to the point it went off the topic. It was immature & unprofessional behavior.

It was not advertising...cuz if it was, then those who use the name of their business as their screen names need to stop doing so...as they are "advertising" their business that way.

Advertising and Awareness are two different things.

Just a thought. But thank you for reponding and sharing your opinion...
