You know, it hits you earlier than you think it will. I find myself DAILY telling my kids, "you know, we didn't have internet when we were kids." or--

"I remember when we got our first computer...I was in jr. high, but we weren't allowed to use it" (my Dad had his own business and it was for the business)

"You should have seen the old cell phone Papa had....they called them 'brick' phones..."

"When I was a kid, we didn't have video games..."

"I remember when my parents bought their first VCR."

"When I was little, we didn't have a TV with a remote, you actually had to get up and turn the dial...like a radio"

"After Daddy & I got married, we got internet for the first time..."

I could go on and on...and I am only 30!!!! Makes you FEEL older than you are & causes you to wonder what our kids will tell their kids!
LOL!

Wait until a nice, nephew or a grandchild ask you if they had cars when you were a kid.

Re: OT: I'm getting old for sure.......gas was 27cents

When I was a teenager gas was 27 cents a gallon. Bread was 25. I found an old heating oil bill from 1972....29 cents a gallon. I bought a brand new Plymouth for $3,300.00 Now they don't even make Plymouth! God! I'm sooo old. ( I remember party lines for phones as a kid)

Hey, I know towns in MO that still have party lines for

phones. Plus, I remember when gas was 1.06 a gallon, and we actually complained then how expensive it was!! LOL

Re: Hey, Got you ALL beat! :)

I remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon,
No such thing as a microwave
Computers were the size of a small house
Hand held calculators weren't invented
TV's didn't have remote controls
And yea.. I remember black & white TV's. Had one in our house until I was about 8.
Now ya' all know I'm almost as old as dirt! Smile

Re: Hey, Got you ALL beat! :)

I remember when computers were as big as a house. I used one at a newspaper office where I did accounting!
I remember when black & white TV was NEW!
I remember when a lot of people had outhouses and hand pumps and the fellow who lived behind us plowed his field with a horse!
