Korey was talking about feeling old...remembering when gasoline was $1.58. What about those of us who remember when it was .28/gal for regular and .32/gal for premium? My dad, who turned 91 on March 9th remembers buying gas at 6 gallons for a dollar. Want to really get sick?? I remember when you could buy a 1958 Chevy Impala...8 cylinder maxed out in luxury for $2895.00...(yes, the decimal's in the right place!) If I remember correctly, the original Ford Mustang, 1965/66 retailed for around $3500.00. Anyone else have any fond memories of the 'civil' days ?

I'm giving my age away when I admit that I remember gas wars with .21/gal. My first new car was a 70 chevy impala for $4300. Before that, I purchased a used 63 impala for $600 - that was before seatbelts and it didn't have AC either but it had power and drove like a dream.

In 1958 I purchased a 1,500 sq. ft. house for $16,000. That gave me enough money to buy a
1954 Studebaker for $250. Today I purchased 3 gallons of gas for $10. I will continue to buy my gas in $10 increments (daily). Hopefully if we all buy it in dribs and drabs the reserves will increase so that they have to reduce the prices. Years ago that worked with eggs when folks stopped buying them by the dozen and got one or two at a time.

Oh boy, I remember buying gas for 23cents a gallon! My parents bought our first home for $4,000 and sold it in 1972 for 15,000! WOW!

Bought a house on a land contract (5yrs) in 1981 for 25,000. Just sold it for 125,000.

I remember test driving a ford flareside pickup, new, in 1976 and thinking 2500 was to much.

I bought my first car used in 1971. It was a 68 VW bug with bullet holes in it. I paid $400.
