OT- winner announced in Longest Commute Contest

I gotta give this guy credit. 370 miles round trip and a hour commute. He has patience as well as a love of his job. I know I couldn't do it; it puts a new perspective on my former 45 mile/ 60 minute commute from home to a suburb of Detroit.

I heard this on the news this morning and have to believe that this guy has no life. They assumed 7 hours commute time. And now with gas at $3 a gallon, he must make a LOT of money to spend about $1000 a month on gas!

I find this really sad. His family loves the ranch that they live on so this is the only solution? It's too bad they don't love spending time with him as much as they love the freaking ranch.

I know that area well, as you probably also do, I just wonder when can HE enjoy that area himself? It's amazing what some people will do for their family. Who can really argue, if it works for them?
