O/T: NYS Notaries Be Aware

For those NYS notaries whose commissions are close to expiring be aware that the NYS DOS is backlogged beyond belief. I sent my renewal to my county clerk in early February (commission expiring early April), they cashed the check mid February and the DOS STILL has not gotton around to processing the renewal. My commission's expiration date passed 2 weeks ago and the DOS states "As long as we cashed your check you are renewed. It will still take us about 30 more days to process the paperwork and send you a new commission card."
