SOX Collection Efforts

SOX owes me for two invoices. I was dumb enough to think they turned over a new leaf with SOX.com. Last year I wrote off $150 to bad debt on them so I guess I had to learn the hard way in taking on more from them. No major money but they now owe me an addt'l $250 for two this year. Now I'm not putting this out as a sob story by any means. Just giving you a little background. Today, I pulled the order confirmation out and luckily I input the title company and lender into each invoice I enter into my system. I found contact info for these two title companies and called them. I told them I was an SA and did they use SOX much. They quite positively said yes. I asked if they were aware that SOX is highly publicized on message boards as not paying their SAs. They were shocked. I told them I didn't expect that they could pay me since SOX had probably already been paid for these items but just wanted to give them a heads-up what is going on. Asked if they could maybe make contact with SOX to urge them to pay their SAs, more specifically my bill.
I got to thinking if each one of you that SOX owes were to contact the Title company, do you suppose 1) you might get paid or 2) at the very least we could get the satisfaction of being a thorn in SOX side and possibly lose them some business. Just an fyi. Smile

LOL. Sorry for your loss. I can totally relate to SOX's failure to pay. I had five invoices going back to April 2005. I continually was told to re-submit my invoice for payment or that the check was in the mail Blah Blah Blah.

I finally sent a nasty letter Certified Mail Return Receipt with "PAST DUE" stamped across the front of the envelope. I also filed a complaint with the BBB against them. Their BBB status page is nothing to write home about BTW.

I got paid $280 of the $411 owed. I notified them that they were placed on my "Denial of Service" list and I no longer do business with them.

Oh yea, the BBB ended closing my complaint due to their lack of final response.
