Sneaky Loan Signing Company

Hello Everyone. I received a call yesterday to do a loan signing in my city today. The fee was $60.00 overnight docs. I receive the package today and behold . . . it is a 1st and 2nd loan. I called the signing company and explained my surprise. They said they would send me a new invoice with a adjusted price. My signing is within two hours and no invoice as of yet. I have been done wrong by a company before in a similar situation like this (paid for one set of docs but not for the second as promised). How can they not know it is a 1st and 2nd?

What would you do in this situation? I called their emergency hot-line and left a mssge, also there regular hours business phone. I do not want to do a signing and get hosed (like I have been before) on the price.

You're not alone. Experience is a wonderful teacher, especially if we learn our lessons.

My email auto-reply has a statement that states quite boldly "I must have the agreed upon price indicated in the confrimation". When a single suddendly turns into a double they forward an updated confrimation to reflect the higher fee BEFORE the signing is completed. If I feel like being nice due to the hour/after hour signing, I expect the updated confrimation first thing in the morning - before I ship the documents.

Also, I request that all order confrimations come via email (not fax). This gives a good date time stamp for all coorespondence and makes it easier to send questions back directly to a responsible person. It also provides a good record for follow-ups and letters to the BBB or others when invoices go unpaid.

I hold out telling them by email that until I get the updated fee by email I will not go to the aptmt. They come through. Smile
