Thank God for the Search Button

Newbie here...Yes I'm certified for about 1 year now had to take time for off for newborn , however, that doesn't mean a thing if you don't have the actual signing experience!! After weeks of coming on the board just reviewing conversations and a little concerned about chiming in to ask question/s because some of of you can be brutal..Smile or just taking notes on new info given....and yes some one you are very knowledgable in this business. I had my first signing..well sort of anyway. BO actually called me for the appt. It was a Subordination Agreement that required 3 sigs. I have heard of the term," Subordination" but did not have a clue of it's true meaning and what actually needed notarizing......Well, I went to my trusty SEARCH button and type in the word and Whalla!!!...there it was all this wonderful information and advise. I was still a little confused after reading all the info. but I got the basics. Anyway, got to the signing(BO had all the PW) and all the Stickys pointed to exactly where BO had to sign and where I had to notarize although it was pretty self explainatory I was thankful. For a 20 min signing, good conversation, and 2miles from my house I'll take those all week long and twice on Sunday.

THANK YOU all for your encouragement!

No... Thank God you found it!! :)

I'm glad to see that you posted. Don't feel threatend to post. Some posters from FLORIDA (sshh!) think that the "old-timers" are going to harass and/or bash you newbies if in fact you ask a question. This garbage is untrue.

Certain questions require "brutal" answers. For example, if you come on here claiming to be experienced and ask the question: "what is the difference between a jurat and acknowledgment?".... then yes, the "old-timers" see off the bat that you're a BS artist and will voice their opinion(s).

Everyone's entitled to an opinion regardless if it's deemed harsh or poliet.

Thank you very much for doing the simple search...... Now was that hard? Big Smile Take care, and I hope I see more of your posts in the near future.

Happy Signings,
Korey

Hello and welcome aboard. I love the search button and have said so before. I would encourage anyone to use it if only for a refresher on what things are, how to do things etc.
I'm sure you will do great and if you do have questions that you can't find the answers to after using the search, post it. Someone will answer and help you. That is what I love about this board.
Good luck,
Beverly

Never be afraid to ask a question even if its been asked....

before. Sometimes weeding through the threads is impossible. Plus, you want updated and current info...so reading a thread that is months old could be useless. Ask away..and ignore the bashers..most of the people here are very nice.

That's not the rules of this forum, Miss MacGillicuddy.

FlaMac cheerfully sings to the new folks:

**Never be afraid to ask a question even if its been asked....before. Sometimes weeding through the threads is impossible. Plus, you want updated and current info...so reading a thread that is months old could be useless. Ask away..and ignore the bashers..most of the people here are very nice.**

That's not the rules of this forum, Miss MacGillicuddy. Go back and see what is stated upon hitting "New Message." Or, if you already know, then, ma'am, why are you being mean and deceptive...attempting to mislead new folks? It is one way or the other...you are either uninformed or you are trying to get all the new posters into trouble before they get their feet wet.

Not to mention that old worn out narcissistic strategy of ' "ignore the bashers" I am the only one you can trust...the only nice guy here...' FlaMac, they are not stupid. Please do not insult their intelligence with this bully strategy of yours.

How nice to set them up to do what you know will draw criticism!

Mean, mean, mean.

Correction: Those aren't the rules of this forum

Or something like that...anyhow, what FlaMac posted was in opposition to what NR's stated message is when one hits "new message."

RE: Miss MacGillicuddy...Now You have done it Brenda!

FlaMacus Khan will receive a barrage of support from her horde of E-mail devotees spewing the contemptuousness and perceived betrayal of ALL you 'ol-timers'. The well deserved admonition will continue to be vaporous in her mind, and whereas the content and context of your message is most needed in these trying times of the 'invisible' search button, you will be perceived as callously and pitilessly bashing the helpless and inane.

Keep up the good work!

Now everyone will be kicked off of Notary Rotary. That many emails from all of those "supporters" will jam up the server and just to make sure right is right with the server again, we'll be asked to leave and never return Frown

Miss MacGillicuddy...Now You have done it Brenda! Winston...

Until today I truly thought FlaMac was simply misguided. At this fork in our NotaryRotary Road I find the sign has been turned from the high road toward the direction of the quicksand pit.

In this morning's post there was not only misleading information in the face of the NR rules, but also the patented statement about "bashing" which is, as we all know, an irritant to our youngest 'un, Notary Humphreys.

As his surrogate NR mother, I submit it is the least we can do not to upset The Baby first thing in the morning!

Suggestion

Pay no attention to Flamac. Just do a search on ‘flamac” and you will see her advice is not correct. One could end up with a nice pair of stainless steel bracelets for following her suggestions on previous subjects.

It is good that you have made use of the search feature. You are one-step ahead of most newbie’s. It is not impossible to “weed” through the threads. Good information can be found in posts that are months old as well.
Whatever you question may be, I am sure it has been asked on here before. Search first, and then ask if you come up empty.

In addition, you may have read post #33325. If not, I highly suggest it. It contains an abundance of excellent information.

Enjoy reading. Oh, and enjoy that new bundle of joy, too!

Posters:Please read the statement ...

... about asking questions that is posted at the top of the window when entering a post. It specifically states:

--------------------------------------------------------------

Important Notice

If you are going to ask a question, please consider consulting the Search feature before doing so. Many questions have been asked and answered repeatedly on this forum by expert notaries: Should I buy a laser printer? • What are e-docs? • What is a signing agent? • How much should I charge? • How do I get started? Answers to questions like these are just a few clicks away!

--------------------------------------------------------------

By following the above request from the forum owner, you will not only learn a lot of information, but you will also reduce the clutter and misinformation that is so abundant, albeit presented by a very few posters.

This is not to say that you shouldn't post any questions, to the contrary, you should investigate the question first, and then, if not answered to your satisfaction, then by all means post a question. When posing a question, please be as specific as possible (and always include your state identification) so a proper response can be given without making assumptions and speculation. This will surely benefit the entire membership.

Re: You are correct but that doesn't address what the poster

Your reply to a very positive post (the search feature worked! Voila!) makes it sound as though the search feature should not be used as it will only provide worthless and out-of-date information. This is just not so. Maybe you didn't intend to have your post come across as a negative response to the initial post, but that is the way I, and obviously others, read it.

Re: You are correct but that doesn't address what the poster

If you'll notice..one of the first poster's choose to give a sarcastic reply. Yes, we all consider the source but it is still uncalled for....Further proof that some here cannot resist the temptation to make a "swipe" at others or simply skip over a thread when they have nothing useful to offer.

The original poster was very clear on his/her NR experience thus far and stated that he/she was prepared for the "brutes" tho I will say the sarcastic kid was less brutal then usual.

I don't read what "others" write because they don't offer anything of value. I DO read some of what you write because you are generally knowledgeable tho sometimes long winded. But, when you associate with "others" you get ignored by many that visit here. Surely you've created an email network of your own with feedback from the lerkers?

Flacmac, you are the most bi-polar person I've ever read. Please get some help. I swear you are doing this for a comedy routine for your ever famous in your mind e-mail fan club. There isn't any intelligent person on earth that would back anything you say. You say skip over a post when you have nothing useful to offer - well you should be flying dear and no where near a keyboard.

Again it's their not thier - and lerkers? do you mean lurkers? Get a grip or at least a spell checker so you don't seem as stupid as your ideals. Now go ahead and post about your invisible e-mail friends that can't believe I called you on spelling.

Well, I have been out of touch for a couple of weeks, (taxes, signings, etc) and at that time NR was pretty slow. I see that it is back in full form. :o). Spring has sprung, NR is out of hibernation and is as lively as a cat on a hot tin roof in mid July.

sign4you, welcome to the forum. Enjoy, learn a lot, and know that most of the members are really great and knowledgeable. Learn from them. Use your search button often, sign up with many companies and don't be afraid to ask questions.
