Title Companies
I have been in the business for over three years. I am looking to work mainly with Title Companies either in Mississippi or do business in MS. Can anyone offer any advice on how to find the title companies other than the local phone book. I have submitted letters to all the t.c.'s listed. Did not get a response, yet from any of them. I need to expand my search, but need help.
thanks

Yea, I tried that too and didnt get much from TC's either. I did try signing services and got numerous responses from them. Most TC's have notaries on staff but sometimes you can get overflow if you are present in their minds. My advice, keep trying Title Companies but also try Signing Services.

Sounds simple and probably obvious....you probably need to pound the pavement and press the flesh (shake somebodies hand) V.S. just sending what most T&E folks look at as junk mail. There is no substitute for brief, friendly contact that shows your willingness to service each new potential client..........good luck!

Advertising is the key. Many TC's will not use a signing service. They simply go to thier favored signing agent directory, like Notary Rotary, and key in the BO's zip code. They are only interested in SA's who are experienced and who will insure that the borrower and the broker/LO have a pleasant experience. It can be a big investment; but one that is well worth the money.

I'm not that great at this subject. Something I read here and have been working on is when I go out of my own town (60 miles or more) I pick up all the free home for sale magazines and traders. They have all the local Title company's and lenders in them. I will then call and get a good address and send out a resume and introduction letter. Truthfully I haven't gotten any calls yet but I thought this was a good place to start. Hope this helps. B.

One way to find title companies is to
1) log on to the NNA Notary Signing Agent Section 2) Click on "Company Directory" 3) Under "City and State Search" go to "Type". Select "Escrow or Title".
You should get 2,724 results. You can narrow it down by entering a state, or city and state.
Good luck.

You have to be a member of the NSA to use their title/signing company/escrow/lender directory.

Some real estate attornies are linked to title companies. It would not hurt to drop a resume and a business card to them.

Pound the pavement and meet face to face with your local title/escrow companies. Give them a business card and a short 1 page resume outlining your experience and if any, your related business experiences.

I pounded the pavement and visited quite a few Title companies and didn't receive any callbacks, although I left an introductory letter and a resume'. Like one of the posters said, many of them have notaries on staff already.
After four months, lo and behold I get a call from one of them who frequently used a local notary who is now ill and not able to work anymore. They were looking for someone new and came across my letter in their file, asking me to come in for an interview. I now do quite a volume for them in addition to others that I've picked up along the way.
My point is, pound the pavement. You never know what it's going to yield later.
