Update on Computer Problems

The Update patches are responsible for for problems with Internet Explorer address boxes and the Word save feature. After looking in the microsoft help site and finding no answers I decided to be real scientific in testing my theory..... I deleted the patches sent last week.

Everything is fine now!

Didn't work......

I reinstalled the updates and followed those directions. Back to the old problem. Could that be because its some kind of HP patch?

MS has acknowledged that there might be other third-party COM controls or shell extensions that will produce the same 'caveat' ( as they refer to it ). The solution they provide simply rectifies the HP shell extension of a particular HP application, that ships with specific HP harware.
