What other names is SOX going by now?
I got a call for a signing on Saturday. Turned it down because they said we are SOX....I stopped listening after SOX. Could we get an update to the new names they are using now so everyone can beware? Thanks

I had a few calls two weeks ago from what sounded like "Sox Signing Solutions". They had the same area code as Sox. (949) I had them repeat their name and didn't accept the assignments. To tell you the truth I wasn't 100% certain b/c of my cell phone reception and I know there is a Fox signing co., also. I haven't read anything good about them either l, so I figured I'd stick with my "no" answer.

They called me about two weeks ago, and she did say "Sox Signing Solutions". I had her repeat it about three times and I asked her if she was the same company as Sign on the X, and she said yes. I did remind her that WV is an attorney state, but she didn't know what that meant, so I filled her in.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! We have to be so careful now with all of their aka's! (I've never actually worked for them, but I do let them know when they call about their reputation and why I'm turning them down. If I'm at a closing when they call I just tell them I'm booked.) "I did remind her that WV is an attorney state, but she didn't know what that meant, so I filled her in." This wasn't SOX but something similar happened to me today. I had a call from a title co. in MD that wanted me to travel to DE for a closing. I explained to them that in PA we are not allowed to notarize anywhere but in PA and she was wondering why my name came up for DE on NotRot. I told her that DE was an atty. state (so maybe there aren't many notaries advertising) and she had no idea. Md is right next to DE, it seemed odd that they wouldn't know that. (I offered to meet them at the state line, but never heard back from them.)
