When BR Contact info is wrong?
I have taken an assignment that is suppose to be today (Br and I arrange time). Got the phone info from SS last night and it just rings and rings. The ss hasn't called or e-mailed me back with a new number. Seems the BR has an unlisted number as i've even tried calling information. Any suggestions? The number on my document package says they don't have a contact number and gave me someone else to call....who in turn is also not returning calls.

Look on the 1003 application form - it should have borrrowers phone numbers.

This has happenned to me several times. I call the SS and they usually get another number for me. If I don't get a new number or an answer from the borrower by 10am the day of the signing then I call SS and tell them I probably will not be able to fit them in my schedule. I will not wait around and see where I can fit them on my schedule. I had one borrower's phone ring every day for 6 days and no answering machine and no answer. LO only had that one number as BO did not have a cell phone. On the 7th day I finally got in touch with the BO. Apparantly they did not know a thing about it and were in Vegas on vacation and visiting their son. We scheduled for that afternoon.

It really shouldn't take long to get a proper number for the borrower. When the number isn't resulting in success in contacting the borrower. You call the ss, if they aren't answering send them an email. If you still aren't getting results, check the 1003 for borrowers number. If still no success call the lo. If you still don't get a number call the tc. Do everything that you can to get the number. Sometimes it doesn't work out. After doing all of the above call the ss again and or email letting them know that if you don't get a correct number by such and such time you will have to reschedule. You don't want to be turning down other assignments for that time. Of course if your just opening your business and your phone hasn't begun ringing regularly you have the option of keeping that time slot open.

Makes you wonder how the closing ever got scheduled and how the LO finalized the deal if the only phone number they have never gets answered by the borrower in question!
