the Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate the reserrection at Paska (Easter). A beautiful (no matter what your religious beliefs/nonbelliefs are) and very traditional ceremony beginning outside the church late Saturday night in almost total darkness, except for candlelight, to entering symbolically through the gates of Hades into the light from death into life. Services last into the early Sunday morning hours. This past week, was called the Great Week, following a 40-day lenten fast where no meat, dairy or egg products are consumed.

Also it is THE holiday in the Eastern Orthodox religion. More celiberated and important than christmas.
