business card verbiage

I'm looking at getting some business cards made and was wondering *what* information do people put on their cards?
Commission #?
California Licensed & Bonded (Is it an actual license?)
Email Address
Website Address
Cell Phone

Anything else?

Any good places to get business cards?

Much obliged.

Msix

I believe in the Billboard method.

Banner: Mobile Notary, Loan Signing Agent, Certified Notary Signing Agent (What)
Name: (Who)
Blurb: Specializing in loan signing services, years in the business, availability, service area, etc.
Anything that sets you apart from all the rest. One or two lines only. (Why, When)
Phone (How)
Fax
Email
Website

You need to ask yourself the same questions that any journalist or Ad Exec would. Who, what, when, why & how.

Keep it simple and uncluttered. Too much info can make a business card look unprofessional. With a business card, you are not asking for a call to action. Although, "call today for a quote" would not be too out of line. The same goes with discounts for Miltary, elderly, adoption.

JMO, of course, but I did spend 10 years in the Ad game before doing this.

Re: business card verbiage.... I agree with Becca, keep it

simple.....easy read, too much clutter is distracting and misses the point.

Good Morning!

When buying cards make sure that you use:

1.) High quality stock paper.
2.) Choose Colorful designs
3.) "Market yourself"

Because I am also a real estate agent, I have several card types. All cards (with the exception of my notary cards) were purchased via Overnightprints.com. Very high quality! Excellent service!

For example: On one set of real estate cards I have printed:

The name of the real estate company
My name
Title(s)
Business address
City, State, Zip
Direct Telephone Number
Fax Number, Business Number
E-mail address or webpage

On my notary cards (Purchased the NNA Deluxed Signing Agent cards, which open-up and have Notarization "Musts" inside.) I have listed:

My name
Title(s)
Telephone Number, Fax Number
E-mail address

On another set of real estate cards I have:

My name
Title(s)
Direct Telephone Number
Marketing slogan: "As the Seasons Change
So May Your Real Estate Needs
If You're thinking About Buying or Selling
Please Call on me!"

And on the back, of all of my *real estate cards,
I have informative telephone numbers listed.
Such as, Marriage, Birth, Family law, Probate, Property Taxes, Child Support etc . . .

*Note: Overnight prints allowed me to customized my cards, whereas, the NNA did not.
However, the NNA Deluxe cards have a red backing.

Some agents put calendars on the back of their cards, some put "emergency" telephone numbers, others put hotel and restaurant information, some football schedules etc. . .the possibilities are endless!

The reason for doing this, is that you want your card to "stand out from the crowd". You also want a card that people will hold onto and not throw away or write on!

Pam

Less is better, I agree. Don't forget to disclose that you are not an Attorney!!!!

"I am not a lisensed Attorney in the State of __________ and I may not give legal advice. I do not accept fees for legal advice"

Have fun!!!

Glory,

In Florida, the notice is very specific and defined by statute (F.S.A. 117.05(10)). It states that the wording SHALL be:

“I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, and I may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice.”

[If the advertisement is by radio or television, the statement may be modified but must include substantially the same message.]

BTW, congratulations on your commission.

Thanks for your kind words and help. It's pretty exciting for me to get my commission and pursue the dream of retiring from my regular full-time job and make this my new line of work.

God Bless,

Marty
