Did you do a search for "express notary"? I think they are on the no-no list.

I did one for them in February and was paid in 20 days. Also the package was small and the signing took less than 30 min. Maybe I was just lucky, but my experience with this company was good and I'd be happy to do more for them.

Melanie, you might try what I just did. I too had posted a msg over the past weekend, similar situation diff co.,,, got several helpful hints on how to "collect" my money. I didn't use any of the collection letters suggested, but I went to the website of the Secretary of State office in CA and they have a nice little "attach map" scenario that lets the non-responsive company you did the signing for know that you know exactly where to register a complaint AND you can send the e-mail with the mapquest print included with your notice of intent to register a complaint with that office within xxxxx days if you do not receive payment. The most amazing thing happened! I rec'd a somewhat nasty response today stating they were very dis-satisfied with my threatening e-mail, but in their msg they said they were putting payment in the mail today!! I too had tried nice reminder invoices, e-mails, phone calls, etc. no response, but this "link" got their attention.

That's an excellent collection plan..main thing is to get...
thier attention. If you send the letter....might send it certified...so if you do file a complaint you can show that you sent them a letter.

Good advice, FlaMac. In addition, and I could be wrong, I believe the IRS (I don't want to say requires, as I'm not 100% sure, but) strongly recommends that you attempt to collect before you write off as bad debt. A certified receipt helps prove that you did try to collect prior to actual write-off. (I believe this applies to accrual method -- with cash basis, you don't claim the income or the expense until payment is available to you) Tax people, correct me if I'm wrong...I only have my Certificate in Accounting. ::GRIN::

Sorry, just logged back on. I just sent them an e-mail from the "link" and cc'd myself & have the print copies as proof & made sure to send theirs as "read receipt".

Go to the California Business Portal under the Secretary of State Bruce McPherson website. In the middle of the page that comes up is a little block that shows "map it". You can link it there to your e-mail. I just had to go back through the steps to bring it up.
