After reading through the last couple of days...

I almost wonder wheat website my I on?

Please folks, let's steer clear of religion and politics. I am so tired of reading it here that it turns my stomach to see people that I respect so much, being angry/defensive and drawn into this. I will never post my opinion about my Government here, nor argue with those that have a differing outlook.
I know we all have distinct personalities and different beliefs and that is what makes us who we are. This IS not the place to discuss heated topics like these.

Please start a 'political and/or religious blog' - they're free, (post the site and leave it at that if you must) those that care enough will argue with you all day long if you wish and let me get back to the topics of Notary discussion along with some light humor to break up my day. I used to enjoy this place, now I'm afraid to even start reading because of what this place has become...again...

Can we just stop it Jahari? You know before you post your usual that you are going to incite 75% of the regulars here and you bring out the worst in people. BestCal, you need counseling. You remind me of a maggot, feeding off garbage.
In turn the professionals and companies stumbling onto NotRot must think we're all a bunch of babbling loons and none of it is even remotely related to the industry that this forum was created for.

Can we all NOT get pulled into it everyone?

Can I get a yay? please?

I agree, Charm.

This board should be for professional exchanges only.
When we do otherwise, we dilute our professional image.

I think you are a nice lady but your OT posts are part of the problem here.

Harry:
So can we please have a separate tab for OT off topic jokes etc???

Re: Harry - Please

Jason...Thanks for your input.
I do not believe that my Friday OTs is a problem for most. They is not abusive and they are pre-empted with an OT. Some that do not need a break or a possible smile can just pass it over, knowing that it's probably an end of a busy and sometimes crappy week refresher. It is for me, when I read them, psychologicially they make me feel better. I like knowing it's Friday most weeks and I like getting myself into the weekend mode in many ways as possible.
Many of us are Full time Moms as well as full time business owners, we spread ourselves pretty thin over the week and most of us work from morning til night mixing career, family, housework, cooking and everything in between. We often don't realize it but we can put in 14 hours days most of the week, I look forward to the weekend and lightening up.

I also do not believe we need an OT board. It in my opinion is extra work and not necessary as before this new tirade, most were policing themselves just fine with the OTs.

If this place was ONLY notary discussion with the poster police ready to jump on every OT, it would mirror the other board, extremely dry and boring.

Re: Harry - Please

Cheryl, thank you for posting what a lot of us were thinking. This board has aided me tremendously in my SA business. Not only by the advice, shared experiences or opinions of posters but also the marketing tips and ideas which I have received over the past year since I started reading. A keen eye is able to gather numerous contacts and with a little aggressiveness and motivation, begin new and prosperous business relationships.

OT does have it's place here. Reading OT has brought personality into what could be an otherwise robotic board. Since many of us do this full time, it's nice to have some “fellow employees” to yak with sometimes and bounce things off. If there ever are two boards, I feel this one should remain as is and another for 'Serious Notary Stuff Only”'. Gee, I wonder which would get more action?

I must also say how nice it was to see Jahari give his thumbs up to your post. I'm willing to listen and learn to what notary related knowledge he may be able to offer now that he has agreed to redirect his topics.

Agree with every point you made Blueink.

Especially the last two sentences and glad he has agreed to go along with the program.

Although I don't do signings full time, this board has been my primary source of education in the finer points of loan signing...which is my interest here, and hope to offer the title point of view in spite of how unpopular that view might be. It always helps to understand the industry is fraught with pressure from every single player, whether it's the SA, the SS, the TC or the oft-maligned RE agent or loan broker (I had to choke those words out...RE Agent and broker....cough, cough, gasp...better go...need water).

Charm & BlueInk

I totally agree with both of you.

I like NotRot because of the "water cooler" atmosphere. I feel like I am part of a community of people that understand the day to day issues that I deal with. We are real people (most of us, anyway) and have real feelings, real issues and real questions or concerns with our businesses. Most likely, someone out there in NotRot land has had the same issue, same concern or same feelings about a situation. We are all just people trying to run a successful business and we all need a little distraction every now and then. Let's face it, we don't have a casual Friday to get ready for the weekend, but we do have Charm's Friday OT and that is always a pleasure to see.
