Anyone read this e-mail from the NNA?

Any thoughts?

Wouldn't this affect notaries anywhere in the country? I do a lot of loans for companies in California who schedule closings in my state.

Most of my closings are from out of state SS or TC's. I don't see how having an "in-house" notary would suffice. I am not worried.

calming this wild hair of Garamendi's. This is so political, his information is so false, and his insistence on 'fixing' the industry would be better spent by looking at the lending practices in this state, and in some instances CAR (California Association of Realtors).

Title, Escrow and Notary fees are THE MOST MINIMAL of the entire transaction. Garamendi's position and behavior on this is becoming very difficult to understand and more difficult to but to justify.

For more information go to: http://www.clta.org/

Please click on the link and the opinion/request letters posted there. If notaries do want to write now is the time. Phone calls work too.

The entire title industry is working overtime on this, and Garamendi is just plain nuts. Has he EVER read a HUD??

Hey leave CAR out of this

Garamendi's a jacka$$

If it wasn't for CAR, I wouldn't be able to put gas in mine... Those commissions look huge but they're few and far between this year! CAR's our only friend in Sacramento and Sacramento's worse than Washington.

Okay, now that I'm done beating the drum for my own pocketbook I'll admit it, CAR can get out of hand now and then, you're right.

Garamendi's a jacka$$. As much as "elected" sounds sacred to us, we should NOT have an elected Insurance Commissioner. He should be apointed from the industry, like the Real Estate commissioner. This idiot is running for Govenor (God help us.) He did the same thing to the Property and Casualty industry, till he made it so bad half of them left the state then rates shot through the ceiling. Here's the funny thing, since he left them alone rates are dropping again.

What's he thinking??? You can go to your local Title office (any one of the 7) pour yourself a cup of coffee and have a long chat with your favorite escrow officer. She ain't busy. Escrow fees have already been lowered where I'm at. It's called Free Market.

Did I mention that Garamendi's a jacka$$???
