Becoming a notary in another state

Can anyone tell me if I can become a notary in a different state, even though I don't reside in that state? I live in FL, on the border of AL & have rec'd calls for closings in AL but am not licensed there. Would love to broaden my coverage area!

Thanks in advanced for any valuable info!

Consult the AL SOS regarding Notary Commissions for persons residing outside the state of AL.

Think you need to maintain a valid address (i.e. office or business address) in that state in order to become commissioned there.
