Conversion or software

I have an HP3015. I am more and more lately getting these MB files. Of course these are huge files and my printer cannot do them all at once. Never have problems with KB. Is there some software than can convert a MB to a KB? I am not really a computer person and wondered if anyone out there could help in knowing how to do this. If I get these MB files, I can only print 5 documents at a time...let me tell you that when there are 123 pages to print, it takes forever! Other than buying a new printer, is there a way to fix the problem? Thanks so much for your help!

A MB(megabyte) is a lot of kilobytes (KB) that's all. They could say the file is 1,222,845 KB or they could just convert it to MB to make it shorter. It's the same type of information though. The problem seems to be not enough memory to process these larger files. I'm not familiar with the HP3015 but if it is not a newer model, that is probably your problem.

This printer is only 6 months old. I had heard that there was a software program that can convert...maybe it is just wishfull thinking. I guess I will just limp along until this one burns up and buy a printer that has more memory. Thanks so much for your reply!

Are you sending them directly to the printer, or are you saving the file to your hard drive first? Sometimes, saving it to your hard drive helps.

Sending them directly to printer. So I would take the file and save it to my desktop maybe? Then try printing?

MB and KB refers to the size of the file. A file can be compressed to make it smaller, but this is NOT what you want to do!

It sounds like you need to increase the memory size of your printer.

You might search the message board by clicking on the orange search button and search for hp3015 and see what other problems/solutions others have.

This question was asked below. Here is the answer from Glen Strickler:

You did not mention what kind of printer but

Go into control panel, choose printers, right click and choose properties, choose advanced and then check the boxes "spool print documents so program finishes faster" and "start printing immediately". This will use the computers memory and hard drive to feed the documents to the printer only as fast as it can take it removing the workload from the printer memory. My brother 5140 printers only have 16mb of memory and I never have an issue even when the PDF documents are scanned in as images. They will print the 21 pages per minute.
