Thanks for this link! I was wondering about that. I just bought a new Dell Laptop last fall. Even though my model is one of them - the battery number is not (off by 1 digit - whew!).

HEY DELL OWNERS

you really want to do this... mine was not on the list, mom's was... her battery is on the way.

Here's the deal... in addition to the over-hyped fire danger. (Mom's been using hers for a year now) Batteries are CONSUMABLES... as they age their ability to hold a charge diminishes till finally you just have to be plugged in. And they can cost you a benji, or more.

So anytime you have a good exuse to get a new battery free... well it's kinda like getting a toner cartridge free.
