Does anybody know...
Why is it that when so many others, during June and July were complaining about how slow it was, I was completely slammed with so much work, I almost went crazy. Now this month, when others are talking about how busy it is, I am so slow, and the phone rarely rings? I'm not complaining, as the break is nice, but I am curious. BTW I am in VERY Northern California. Thanks for any input, J.

ummm.... pick one
it slowed a little in your area? you messed up? everybody gets a turn? They're gonna get you at EOM?
seems like it's cyclical...I wasn't very busy then, but it's hopping now. So far, as of right now I'm finishing Thurs and Fri with another 4 a piece. Juggling here to take it all! So glad I had today off, I can feed and dress my family again!

Probably the 1st and last suggestion on your list. Yes, occasionally I make a mistake, but I hear about it immediately, and I correct it. Usually, I still get calls from the company. Actually there are not a lot of us S.A.'s around here, as I hear that a lot from companies who call, and are bummed when I am unavailable. I'm wondering what causes the cyclical thing?

Do you cover White Thorn?
I am constantly getting requests to pick up White Thorn but it takes me 3 hours to get there.

No, I don't even do Garberville. I'm usually so busy in Northern Humboldt, I don't have the time to travel to Southern Hum. Also, you know what's growing on those back roads... I don't want to get lost out there!

Re: Do you cover Whitethorn?
There is too much truth in that statement! I'm born & raised N. CA, so is my husband. There is property in my family in Ettersberg (which is not normally on any map). Has been for over 100 years now. About 5 years ago we had a big family reunion on the homestead. My husband thought I was crazy taking him some of the "back" roads. He didn't even know these places existed. A lot of our family is also from Whitethorn. Beautiful country!!! Always miss "home", but not the fog! We were both raised in Eureka.
Glad to hear that you are staying busy.

Re: Do you cover Whitethorn? Tina...
I know where Ettersberg is, been there. I do wander over to the Lost Coast and some of the more obscure areas between Mendo and Humboldt. I've always enjoyed the Shelter Cove area and have done business all the way out to Petrolia. As you say it is some of the most beautiful country there is. Busy isn't the word for it: I've been swamped! Are you anywhere near Sun Valley? I've got dear friends who own a ski shop there. They ski Sun Valley all winter and surf Capistrano Beach all Summer, what a lousy life !

Re: Do you cover Whitethorn?
I do know what's growing but its growing all over the Emerald Triangle that's why I carry, many of the illicit growers are now using illegal aliens to guard their crops and those guys are nuts! However, I get a substantial premium, paid by the borrower, to travel to some of the areas I go to because no one else will. I've never had a problem really.

I know
You are in the Pac NW.
Everyone here gets sun drunk in July + Aug. Aug is worst mo. I get more gigs at Xmas than in Aug.
Nobody returns phone calls. They don't read emails let alone reply.
Nothing matters but being outdoors.
LOs across US may be leaving msgs, but PacNWers could care less.
Aug is when I work on my website.
Biz picks up in Sept.
