ESS Escrow Signing Services

Searched & found some really old stuff about them...like 2004/2005. Got a call to do one tomorrow, decent fee (although the lender doesn't pay if no sign) -- some of the previous posts mentioned having to *join* & membership with them. Looking for any updated info re: payment & any other hidden things...TIA

I did a signing for them and got paid on time, but his check gave me so much hassle! I guess he doesn't have the proper bank ink on his checks ( wells fargo) and my bank couldn't read the check so they bounced it back to me. I took the check to Wells Fargo and they wouldn't cash the check either because they couldn't scan it through. This was the biggest pain in my $(*% I spent 4 hours trying to get this thing cashed! SO finally after screaming at the owner for 30 minutes he agreed to paypal me the money lol I never paid a membership fee or anything like that.. I would probably work for him again , i'll just take the check directly to his bank from now on. hope this helps!

I work for them and never had any problem. If borrower doesn't sign the first time and you need go back the second time, just be sure to get a new confirmation with the update fee. They pay on 30 days.

I like this company: one of the first companies that hired me years ago and I think they are great. You don't have to pay to get work from them

Re: ESS Escrow Signing Services - update

Thanks for the replies, and I'll add that they did meet my fee, although there are fax-backs, but a pretty small package. Instructions are provided up-front & seem pretty clear. I will update with payment info if/when I get that far. They do mention that "coming soon" notaries will be paid regardless of if loan closes, but don't say when "soon" is. I mention this for the next NSA to search on this company here.
