Florida Safe Deposit Box help please?

Went into a branch of my bank today to drop off some business cards (they don't notarize for non-customers) - handed the cards to the office manager and she hit me with "do you do safe deposit boxes because I have 3 that need to be drilled!"

Well, I said yes, just call me but I can't find the forms necessary to certify that. I found a small form in the Governor's Manual but does anyone have a standard form they use that you could send me or can you point me to a website where I can get the proper form for this. If not, can I just draft my own based on the form in the manual? TIA

I'm curious. I've done a search on this topic, but what exactly is being done for these safe deposit box jobs? Are you just doing a jurat that the bank officer and locksmith swear this is what was in the box? Or is this one of those jobs that's not really notary work at all like field inspector?

Notary does the inventory of the box once a bank officer opens it (or drills it) and secures the contents in a sealed bag with the original certificate.

Isn't that akin to notarizing your own signature? n/m

Re: Isn't that akin to notarizing your own signature?

No - I notarize bank officer's signature who signs certificate - and just sign off on the particulars of the identity of the box and that it was opened in my presence.

I'd like that also. The few that I've done the bank had the form already.

In your e-mail - just make sure it conforms to NY format and requirements.
