Getting Started

Can someone help me? I've been a certified signing agent now for about a month. I am bonded and ready to work here in the state of Arizona. I was previously a real estate broker/owner in Montana for 10 years. I was also a notary there. I have called several title companies, loan brokers, banks etc trying to get registered with them, to do loan signings. I have run into brick walls. Everyone says I need to have two years experience in AZ, in escrow in order for them to hire me as a mobile notary. I want to be a mobile notary here in the state of AZ. I am 50 years old, have no desire to work at a title company or such for 2 years, in order to perform loan signings as a mobile notary. Can anyone direct me on this dilema? How do I get any work, any work at all? Where can I list my name, my credentials? I've gone throught the course work, taken the tests, got my commission, got my certified signing agent certificate through the National Notary Association...now what??.

Use the orange search button to search for message #33325, lots of great info on there. As far as AZ goes, I don't know, but there's a lot of info to be found on here, the search button is a great tool. Good Luck!

I've been in biz in CA for 14 months. Most of my biz comes from out of state and out of SD title, escrow and signing services. It's really difficult to get your foot in the door with local companies. They have people they are already working with and don't want to give them up for an unknown.

I suggest to keep signing up with all the online companies you can find. It took approximately a month for me to get my first signing after I started signing up. Funny thing is the first signing came from my NotRot listing. A SS in Tampa FL called me after reading my profile.

What's a notrot listing? What on line companies? Where do I go to find them? Thank you so much for your kindness.

Kelli,
Not Rot is this site Notary Rotary. Sign-up here as a premier member, it will be worth every cent. Click on The "Signing Central " tab above there quite a few companies to register with, I would use the orange "Search Button" and read the posts about any company I register with. Use your internet search engine to find companies that hire mobile notaries. I would suggest that you register with a couple hundred companies. As was mentioned earlier read post 33325, and know your states laws. Good luck to you.

Two quick answers

Two good places to start, message 33325 and also click on Brenda/TX link in anyone of her numerous posts (got to get my jab in Brenda), go to her web site, she has a wonderful FREE book you can print out on becoming a signing agent. She tells it like it is, the good, the bad, the ugly. And as I stated in another post to you, start signing up with every signing service that's listed on this site.
