Qantas Airline
It takes a college degree to fly a plane but only a high school diploma to fix one: a reassurance for those of us who fly routinely for their jobs After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet", which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.
Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' Pilots (Marked with a P) and the Solutions Recorded (marked with an S) By Maintenance Engineers.
----------------------------------------------------------- P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.
P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.
P: Something loose in cockpit. S: Something tightened in cockpit.
P: Dead bugs on windshield. S: Live bugs on back-order.
P: Auto pilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent. S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.
P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed.
P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level.
P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what they're for.
P: IFF inoperative. S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.
P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right.
P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.
P: Aircraft handles funny. S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.
P: Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.
P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed.
P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from midget.

Happy Friday to you also Charm! I will be spending the day at the Beach. Yipee, some relaxation, boogie boardin' and just plain kickin' back. I feel your pain with the website and all. Trying to do mine as well. What a PITA. Have a great weekend!

Heading up to our cabin in the mountains to get out of the heat. Taking our 16 yr old and his friend so they can take the Jeep off-roading. I like to bake when were there so, we'll probably eat too much.
I've seen that maintenance complaint sheet since hubby works for an airline. Too funny..thanks for sharing.

Re: This weekend...
The Cripple Creek rally sounds like fun. We're looking to catch our limit of rainbow trout this weekend. Gotta get some fat night crawlers.

Re: This weekend...rainbow trout...
fantabulous easy recipe:
margarine 4 trout's, washed and cleaned 2 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and finely chopped 1 zucchini, cubed or chopped onion or grn pepper, whichever you like 1 clove garlic, finely minced 2 tablespoons lemon juice Rind of 1 lemon Salt and pepper, to taste 1/2 teaspoon thyme
Grease 4 sheets of aluminium foil with margarine; line trout on aluminium foil. Evenly top each trout with chopped tomatoes, zucchini cube, etc, minced garlic, lemon juice and lemon rind. Salt and pepper; sprinkle with thyme. Tightly wrap each trout. Barbecue wrapped trout's over medium coals, for 10 to 15 minutes. The fish is ready when its flesh is no longer translucent and no longer pink along its spine.
everyone loves it

Thanks for the recipe. If we catch enough for dinner, I'll give it a try. We're big into barbequing either on the grill or smoker. We keep trying new recipes for both. I love doing veggies on the grill.

Re: This weekend...rainbow trout...
Dang and I always just corn-mealed 'em and fried em... in bacon grease if it's handy.
By the way, when camping we'd take a couple of zip lock bags all ready with the cornmeal (and black pepper, and I think that's all... mom's job I'm not sure) shake and bake, er I mean fry.
Your recipe sounds better...at least when at home.
Trout for breakfast... mmm good.

MB...
me too! I love quartered different colored sweet peppers and portabellas grilled, constantly brushed with raspberry & vinaigrette dressing, if you do onions and tomatoes just skewer them first! They make terrific sides over rice with my thick grilled pork chops marinated in yoshima's original marinade with a few generous squirts of yellow mustard mixed in. ok...that's it, I'm printed out and ready for a day that keeps getting longer! Bring it on!
