HELP NEEDED - ASAP with pdf file
I have asked this a couple of times but it just seems lately that everytime I try to print a pdf file it takes forever. I've tried printing as image, 300 dpi and it still does it. I don't know what is going on. Used to be they printed like a breeze. Is it me or is it the files I am getting now. They are all from different companies. I'm tryiing to print something now and its printing a page a minute or so. I can't keep doing this. It's making me nuts.

I'm using 6.0 by the way. I have tried to now upgrade to 7.0 but I'm doing it now to see if that helps. I heard bad things about 7.0.

I know there are more technical fixes and I am sure one of the wizards will point them out... but what my Brother printer needs occassionally is to be turned off (I mean UNPLUGGED) and my computer rebooted, then plugged in again. It clears some sort of cache. Works for me and it's a quick fix to try first.

I had this problem as well. For me, the remedy was to uninstall Adobe 7.0 completely, and reinstall Adobe 6.0 After this, I had no problems with slow printing. If you have 7.0, it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. Be sure to uninstall 7.0 first, reboot, reinstall 6.0, reboot and try to print again. I hope this helps.

I had this problem the other night - it sped up by saving the file to my computer first instead of opening it from the download (someone in an earlier thread suggested this and the lightbulb went on for me when my printer started spitting out 1 page every 30-45 seconds or so). Try savings instead of opening (if you haven't already)...Good Luck

Well I unplugged the printer, restarted the computer and then opened the file from my desktop and voila printed like a bat out of H*ll.
Thanks everyone!

I always save the files for EDocs first to my desktop, and then maybe to a memory stick for storage. When I print from the docs on desktop, it prints out like a champ. Diga2Lin/FL is spot on with this advise. I have Adobe 7.0 and never have had a problem. Maybe this is why. (ptoo ptoo ptoo...Old Yiddish curse)...."Doc"

Re: Try savings instead of opening (if you haven't already).
so far it's working good. I even did it here at work where I generally end up printing all my last minute edocs. Thanks for all the advice.
