As noted in the story, "Time Management" is our responsibility. I prefer to plan my appointments with some cushion time.

>>>I prefer to plan my appointments with some cushion time.<<<

I do the same. I use GPS, and like the fact that it shows the estimated time of arrival. If the GPS shows I'm going to be late, I call the borrowers and add about 10 or 15 minutes to what the GPS says -- more cushion. I do not speed up if it shows I'm running late. I have found that the borrowers do not care if you're running late as long as they're informed.

I had a signing quite a few months ago, where I ended up being over an hour late due to an accident on the highway. Thank goodness that I was using my GPS as it constantly adjusts your time of arrival.

I called my borrower quite a few times to tell the her exactly where I was, and keep giving her updates on when I would arrive.

She was very understanding because I was able to keep her informed, and was reassured because she knew where I was.

I think it's funny that she didn't think she needed to bother paying her fines.

Re: I was handed two tickets several months ago within

weeks of each other both I was guilty of and deserved, told the first cop when he stopped me I was confused for a moment, it was a weird intersection. I thought perhaps he would cut me some slack since he caught and stopped two of us, but is didn't. It had been years since I'd had a ticket, took one to traffic school, paid out close to $1000.00 that month for being careless on the road. I have not forgotten those tickets and also just got my insurance renewal and yes a nice increase no thanks to me.

I guess it's been a while since I've gotten a ticket fines must have gone crazy since then... Sorry to hear that! Thanks for the reminder to be careful.
