I'm new on this board

But I wanted to let you know I will try not to ask a bunch of stupid questions, LOL. Anyhow just wanted to say thanks for all the valuable information I've read about signing companies who don't pay on here. I'm going to try to get the payments I'm owed and than no more with those companies. So as a newbie to the board, thanks a bunch for all the past discussions. Smile

Hi Cassandra, there aren't any stupid questions. My motto is: The only dumb/stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Thanks. I've been doing this for almost a year but new to the board. Should have been researching on here a long time ago. I cannot tell you how much info I've gotten just today. I now know who I shouldn't take jobs from anymore, LOL. Smile

Cassandra, If you're getting paid the fees you have agreed on with companies, no matter what their reputation here, then you should take jobs from whatever companies you like.

When I first started coming to Not Rot I saw bad things about one company that has sent me TONS of business...and met my fees, which are not low. Most of the comments were how that company never met anyone's fees and was offering low-ball fees when they called. I've never had that problem with that specific company and have continued to take work from them.

My point is that you should weigh your own experience with a company against what you read on the boards. Use the boards to help you decide whether to work with a new company, but don't throw out your regular companies that meet your fees and pay on time just because of what you read on the boards.

They don't pay on time. I've been waiting 3 months, and it's happened before. That's why I was just shocked and amazed about what I read of these companies on here. Each one I have had problems with I did a search for and found tons on negative stuff. I'm just tired of fighting with these people to get paid. Thanks for the pep talk though. I appreciate it. BTW, how do you just have MelissaM on there? I tried changing mine and I couldn't.

Yeah, I found where you can change it.

How to change Author name...

When you go to reply, there is a box above next to the "Add a Link to My Profile" check box. Mine drops down and gives me the option of using my original username or my full name as shown in my profile. How to add or change those two options is beyond my capabilities. Smile

Re: How to change Author name...

Thanks, when I was looking at my profile it said forums name, I'm not a premier member so I don't have that option, LOL. Thanks a bunch though. Smile
