My first Notary signing job!!!!!! Need HELP!!!!!!!
Hi
I will be driving to my 1st mobile notary signing job tomorrow 8/26/07 and I wanted to verify if the only documents that needs to be notorized are the deed of trust and name affidavit. Also if a wittness is needed for the signing of deed of trust. Is there a resource out that has a basic checklist of items the signing agent should refer to, to insure proper signing of mortgage documents. THANK YOU for any help that can be provided to me. :-)

There's a lot to learn before doing your first signing, I suggest you hit the orange search button and research. You may have to notarize as many a 15 documents, it all depends on the lender and title co. Please be careful its not fair to the customer and lender if you are not fully trained and able to complete a Witness Closing assignment.

Good for you for taking some excellent advice to heart. There's a lot more to being a signing agent than just being a notary. I'd add to PE's comments, though, that it is also imperative to be thoroughly familiar with the notary laws of your state and comfortable with the act of notarization. My guess is that if you had gotten to that point already, you wouldn't have had to ask the question... But hopefully you've already gotten that point! ;> There are a few very good training programs for SAs out there and if you haven't already gone that route, I highly recommend it, if you are looking for a serious career as an SA. You'll find plenty of info on those when you do your searches.
Do you already have the documents for your appointment? If so, I'm sure you'll benefit from going through them carefully in advance. That should also help you answer your question. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow!

The docs that need notarizing will have certificates on them. Illinois is not a witness state. Just take your time going over the docs and make sure all the docs are signed that have signature lines for the borrowers, and notary certificates are filled out correctly for your state.
