ND is at it again

Just got a call from ND for a signing approx. 40 miles rt for a big fat fee offer of $60 /w edocs. Quoted my fee of $XXX and of course the old "I'll have to get that approved" From now on, the fee goes up $25.00 for every "I'll have to get that approved" Of course you know, someone will take it at that fee and drive a total of 30 more miles then I would have. I am the closest to this particular signing.

Well god bless them, My family owned a trash company years ago and one pesky competitor came in to our territory and low balled us. Well it hurt until we made sure that every consumer than wanted the service for less than it cost us we made sure they called them with at least one referral from a customer of ours that received the low price. Come to think of it as I am writing this we even called on a lot of there current customers and gave them a list of there current customers ( they low balled from us ) with phone numbers so they to could call and get a lower price.

Well it did not take long and they stopped this practice because it was killing them.

Just had to relate.

Take off the Tyvek, your brain's over heatin'

If Nancy the Notary is lowballin' you

Everytime some SS calls (especially the no pay ones) offering $50 you tell them you know that Nancy take $50 jobs... and give them her number.

If she spend all her time doing $50 jobs while you're doin' $125 eventually she'll run out of gas money.

It's an old trick that works better in businesses where there are hard costs... like construction. Not that there aren't costs to being a notary, just that in construction (or trash hauling) the per job cost is higher and the lowballer will go broke quicker.

I'm not sure it can work in this business... but it's an old gag in Real Estate to refer the jacka$$ prospects to your favorite jacka$$ competitor. (If nothing else, for entertainment)

Okay - like when I worked for a lawyer and someone called with no money...we referred ALL of those to Mr. Scum Bag aka Client Thief.

Yeah, I have referred plenty of those dirty deeds out to Lola Lowlow. Now, let me go back and read Doug's post about the trash...but first, the Tyvek hat must be refastened to the mother ship. Where'd my stapler go......

In RE its even better...

if you play it right you can get your competitor to PAY YOU A REFFERAL FEE if an when they ever pull of the miracle of selling Mr. Paininthebutt's overpriced home... but to do that you have to have a good story about why you're reffering it out and a straight face... otherwise you just quietly send Mr. Paininthebutt to see 'em.

I like that Gary

All my competitions will be booked by tomorrow morning b/c I accepted only 3 out of 7 calls today, 2 of which are in the morning where I'd have plenty of time for the last minute call$ in the evening.

Re: ND is at it again...Nations Direct

Notary Direct does the same thing, and they pay what ever they want if the borrower does not sign. It happened to me, even if you had a trip fee amount set up, they end up paying what ever they feel is right for them.

Okay - thanks - got 2 calls from them yesterday back to back (within an hour of each I believe) - my privacy director was on and intercepted both - maybe that was a good thing..Smile

I can relate! I've had numerous calls from them offering $40 overnight doc fees. Unbelievable! They try to get around their horrible fees by stating that the high volume makes up for it. HA!
I can't stand them. And, I've heard that "I've got to get that fee approved" garbage myself.
I can't believe they manage to stay in business. There must be a lot of desperate signing agents out there!
