Kathy, Re: New signer
Kathy,
Congratulations!
First of all, study and read this board. There is much information to learn (There is also an orange search tab which may be helpful to you.). Next, make sure that you KNOW all your state's notarial regulations and laws. Third, ensure that you have all your notarial supplies, business cards, insurance etc. . . Fourth, if possible, employ a mentor. Fifth, market yourself to, and sign-up with, the various "good" signing companies. Sixth, create a website. Seventh, Always be courteous and prompt!

Hey Kathry, welcome to the party. Now you have to figure out how to lure the signing companies into using you because we (Licensed Title Producers) are a dime a dozen here. Sorry not to be very optimistic this afternoon. Been dodging the low balling companies for the past week and someone is taking the closings too cheap and trying to suffocate those that have been around for years.

Hi Lily, Yes, I am now a license title producer. I took the test about 2 wks ago and passed. I just got my MIA license a couple of days ago. I am in Severn MD which is Anne Arundel County.

Re: Kathy, Re: New signer
Have you done a zip code search to see how many people are in your area? I know people in Balt. City that go to AA County to do closings. I just hope that you don't low ball your fees to get started. That makes it really bad on other closers. If you have past experience in working at a title or mortgage company, you may already have a "foot in the door" to get started. Good luck.
