Newbies/test questions
If you're taking a test of YOUR KNOWLEDGE, it's ok to just answer the questions that you know the answers to. Many times, a company is trying to test basic knowledge and doesn't expect you to be able to answer ALL the questions. In fact, if you have all the answers, but limited experience, it may work against you since your experience doesn't match your "knowledge". If you have to use someone else's experience and knowledge to answer for you, they you are committing fraud to the hiring entity by passing off answers that are not based on your knowledge.
Using someone else's answers is cheating. AND you will not retain the knowledge down the road, because it is not something you've learned. Someone who does truly have the knowledge on their own will have to clean up your mistakes.
You are doing no one any favors by answering questions that you don't have a clue about. In some states, to do something that you know nothing about is considered UPL.

Re: ^5 (High Five) Melissa!
I'm a newbie to the business and to this Board and I've been tested by at least 8 different signing companies in the last couple of weeks. While I do consider these tests to be "open book", if I don't find my answers in my head, my notes or checklists I've made up for myself then I make an educated guess. I'm past the part of worrying about getting 100% on each one. The good thing is that these tests make me study more and more. I'm glad you seasoned pros aren't handing out answers like candy on Halloween. It wouldn't be fair to anyone if you did. I cracked up last night because I was taking a test and when I took a break to check NotRot's discussion board....a notary in another state must have been taking the same test because she posted the exact same question that was on my test!!!! That was funny. Maybe I should have offered her $50 for the answer I came up with.
