Another option is to have the document notarized at a US embassy. I work for a very large national bank, and when we have borrowers that leave the country for vacation, and still want to close a mortgage, we have them go the U.S. embassy in the country they are in. Never had a problem, and I work specifically with California properties, and loans. I have seen signings in Australia, Canada, China, England, it's nuts. Lets apply for a new mortgage and then 2 weeks later leave for a 3-4 vacation overseas....
